It’s so nice, having one of those special nice models living in my neighborhood, because the autumn colors were everywhere and I absolutely wanted to do some autumn work with Miss Avalon-Chanel Weijzig.

She is born here in Zwolle, The Netherlands to parents of Indonesian decent. In 2009 Avalon-Chanel competed as one of 12 finalists in our country’s national beauty pageant, Miss Universe Nederland. Avalon-Chanel was crowned the eventual winner of the title, gaining the right to represent the Netherlands in Miss Universe 2009 in Nassau, Bahamas. She was considered one of the favorites for the title.
Avalon-Chanel Weijzig also represented The Netherlands for Miss World 2009 and Miss World Cup 2010 so we had a reason to be proud of course.

Outside I used a 580EX II through an Elinchrom Deep Octa with inner diffuser from the front, an old Metz bare bulb flash with gels from the back. I had to create an artificial sun, because it was cloudy and raining that day.
Postprocessing: a little contrast bump and a little bit of warming through the X-Rite ColorChecker Passport. Minor retouches and subtle enhancements.

Thank you Frenchy Enschede for the clothes and thank you Sarah Grosman for all your make-up work.
